If You Want to Win | Do Something

This year I've been learning much about spiritual warfare.  God has been teaching me how to combat the enemy when he comes against me like a flood. I've heard many people say many things about this subject but nothing has been as powerful as using the Word of God to destroy the enemy's plan against us. Now hang on, if you think you've heard this message before, please give me a quick minute to share a scripture passage with you.

This morning the Lord brought to my rememberance a portion of Deuteronomy 28. When I looked up the whole passage, verses 1-12 came alive.  With that said, if I want to win, I need to do something.  The next time the enemy comes to me with lies, I'm going to remind him of God's promises found in that passage. I'm going to prepare my heart and mind for those battles by meditating on this good word, each night. Not only that, to encourage my faith, I'm going to cling to these promises through all my circumstances.

How about you?  Would you do something with me this week? Would you print this scripture out, and every night before you go to bed, read through it? Read it like it is a mission statement for your Christian walk. Paste it on your bathroom mirror. When you are tested, pull it out, and begin reminding yourself of God's word over your circustance. God does not lie. He means what He says and says what He means. His promises are everlasting.

Below is the scripture:

Blessings for Obedience | Deuteronomy 28:1-12

If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God:

You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. (promise pertaining to everywhere your feet walk)

The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. (promise pertaining to increase)

Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. (promise pertaining to provision)

You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. (promise pertaining to everywhere your feet walk)

The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven. (promise for protection and victory!)

The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you. (more provision and increase and blessing)

The LORD will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the LORD your God and walk in obedience to him. 10 Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they will fear you.

The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you.

The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.

May you fight the good fight and never give up!

Grace & Peace,
Dori
